Choosing a Family Package
Family packages typically offer private car transportation (instead of group buses), family rooms in hotels, and more flexible schedules. They cost more but provide significant convenience for families with children or elderly members.
Preparing Children
Explain the rituals in simple terms. Practice walking long distances before the trip. Pack their favorite snacks, a small backpack, and entertainment for waiting times. Children under 7 are not required to perform rituals but earn reward if they do.
Caring for Elderly Parents
Book hotels within 300m of the Haram. Arrange wheelchair services through your agency. Bring all medications and medical reports. Consider premium packages with better accessibility features.
Transportation Differences
Group packages use shared buses for transfers between Makkah and Madinah and to/from the airport. Family packages provide private car service, which is more comfortable and allows flexible timing — especially important with young children or elderly parents.
Staying Together in Crowds
The Haram can be incredibly crowded. Establish a meeting point if separated. Give children an ID card with hotel name, agency number, and family contact. Use bright-colored accessories to spot each other easily.
