Why Visit Madinah
While visiting Madinah is not a mandatory part of Umrah or Hajj rituals, the Prophet ﷺ encouraged visiting his mosque and said a prayer in Masjid an-Nabawi is worth 1,000 prayers elsewhere.
Masjid an-Nabawi
The Prophet's Mosque is the second holiest mosque in Islam. Try to pray as many of the 5 daily prayers here as possible. The mosque is open 24 hours and has separate sections for men and women.
Praying in the Rawdah
The Rawdah is the area between the Prophet's ﷺ grave and his pulpit. It's considered a garden of Paradise. Time slots can be booked through the Nusuk app due to high demand.
Historical Sites to Visit
Visit Masjid Quba (first mosque in Islam), Mount Uhud (site of the Battle of Uhud), Jannat al-Baqi (historic cemetery), and the date farms of Madinah.
Practical Tips
Madinah is generally calmer than Makkah. Hotels are more affordable. The weather is slightly cooler. Use the free shuttle buses between your hotel and the mosque.
