Why Training Matters
Pre-departure Hajj training is one of the most important yet often overlooked aspects of Hajj preparation. Good agencies conduct 2-4 comprehensive sessions covering everything from rituals to health safety.
Session 1: Types of Hajj & Ihram
Session 1 typically covers the types of Hajj (Tamattu, Qiran, Ifrad), Ihram rules, and what to expect at each stage.
Session 2: Practical Rituals
Session 2 focuses on the practical rituals: Tawaf technique, Sa'i, standing at Arafat, the stay at Muzdalifah, stoning of the Jamarat, and Qurbani.
Session 3: Health & Safety
Session 3 covers health and safety: vaccinations, dealing with heat, crowd management strategies, emergency contacts, and what to do if you get separated from your group.
Final Session: Travel Logistics
The final session usually covers travel logistics: airport procedures, hotel check-in, local transport, currency exchange, and communication options.
Red Flags to Watch For
If your agency doesn't offer training, that's a red flag. Consider choosing a different agency or at minimum, study the rituals independently.
